Subscription & Billing Enhancements in Shorter Loop#

We've refreshed the subscription management and billing experience to make it clearer, more transparent, and easier to manage — whether you're on a trial or an active paid plan. These release notes summarize the latest improvements and updates.

For Paid Plan Users#

If you are on an active paid plan (Starter, Scaleup, or Enterprise), here's what has changed on your Subscription Settings page.

1. "Active Seats" Label#

The seat usage indicator has been renamed from "Seats Used" to "Active Seats". This label more accurately reflects the number of people actively using a seat in your subscription.
You'll find this on the top summary bar of your Subscription Settings page, displayed as "1 of 5 seats", along with a visual progress bar.

2. Clearer Pricing Display#

The pricing display now shows the cost in a more explicit format. You'll now see "$300 /seat/year" — making it immediately clear that the price is per seat, billed annually.
This is visible directly below your plan name in the subscription details.

3. Full Billing History & Invoice Downloads#

Your Subscription Settings page now includes a dedicated Billing History section that shows a complete list of all past transactions — including credits, adjustments, and charges.
Each billing record displays:
Transaction date
Invoice reference number
Description of the charge
Payment status
Download button to save the invoice as a PDF

Use the download button next to each transaction to save an invoice for your records or to share with your finance team.

4. Easier Billing Management#

You can now manage your payment methods and subscription details directly through a secure billing portal.

Accessing your billing details#

1.
Go to Settings → Subscription.
2.
Scroll to the Payment Method section.
3.
Click the Manage Billing button.
4.
You'll be taken to a secure page where you can: add or change a payment method, view your full invoice history, and update your billing contact details.
The billing portal is a secure, external page. Any changes made here will immediately update your Shorter Loop account. Click "Return" in the portal to come back to Shorter Loop.

5. Improved Seat Management#

To make adding team members faster, the seat management window now stays open even after you complete a purchase. This allows you to confirm your updated seat count immediately without extra clicks.

For Trial Users#

If you are currently on a free trial of Shorter Loop, we've made it easier to understand your options as you move toward a full subscription.

6. Accurate Pricing Information#

The pricing page now clearly shows what you'll pay once your trial ends:
Yearly and monthly options: You can easily compare the annual "per seat" cost against the monthly equivalent.
Clearer totals: The total cost for your selected number of team members is shown upfront, so there are no surprises.

7. Smoother Plan Changes During Trial#

You can now explore and switch between different plans during your trial period more easily. We've reduced the number of steps required to change plans, so you only need to enter payment details when you're ready to fully upgrade.

Additional Improvements#

We have also made several updates to improve your daily experience in Shorter Loop:

Easier Navigation#

Clearer Menus: We've redesigned the product and team switching menus to make moving between different areas of your work more intuitive.
Seamless Movement: Navigating between your main organization view and specific products is now smoother, ensuring you stay in the right context.

Better Data & Reports#

Regional Accuracy: When you save your roadmaps as PDF or Excel files, they now include proper timezone information, making them more accurate for global teams.
Polished Reporting: We've improved the look and feel of exported reports, specifically for user research and strategy maps.

General Refinements#

More Screen Space: We've optimized several popup windows to take up less space, letting you focus more on your content.
Visual Improvements: Various icons and layout areas have been polished for a cleaner, more professional look across the application.
If you have any questions about your billing or subscription, reach out to our team at support@shorterloop.com — we're happy to help.
