What's New This Release#

August 2026 · Shorter Loop

This release brings a new Sage chat experience, a redesigned Dashboard with trash support and smoother onboarding, richer AI context tools, and a more accessible navigation rail. There's also a big round of dark theme polish, faster and more reliable Kanban filtering, and several fixes to save-and-sync issues across dashboards and boards.

New Releases#

Sage Chat#

Say hello to Sage — our new AI chat assistant, built from the ground up with a cleaner interface, faster streaming responses, and a more capable underlying model.
Ask Sage questions, get guidance, and keep the conversation going without leaving your workspace.

Dashboard Redesign#

The Dashboard has a fresh look and feel. Deleted items now go to Trash instead of disappearing for good, so you can recover them if you change your mind, and new onboarding steps make it easier to get set up from day one.

Settings & Subscriptions#

Your settings page now includes an industry vertical selector, so Shorter Loop can tailor itself to how your team works, plus a unified subscription summary that shows your plan details in one place.

Richer AI Context#

Discovery just got smarter. A new evidence integrity drawer shows you where your AI-surfaced insights are coming from, pill indicators make context sources easy to scan at a glance, and a new artifact picker lets you choose exactly what feeds into your AI context.

More Accessible Navigation#

The left navigation rail is easier to use for everyone. Submenus are now fully keyboard-accessible, related items are grouped together in the footer, and decorative icons are hidden from screen readers so assistive tech only announces what matters.
Navigation Improvements

Whiteboard Theming#

The embedded whiteboard now follows your platform theme automatically, so it looks right whether you're in light or dark mode.

Better Search & Filtering#

Find things faster: fuzzy search is now available on the dashboard list, the Kanban board supports status filtering, and tables now have their own status filter search.

System Theme Sync#

Shorter Loop can now automatically match your system's light or dark mode setting, so your workspace switches with the rest of your device.

Improved#

Dark Theme#

We fixed a large batch of dark mode visual issues across the platform, including:
Better visibility for the CK Editor toolbar, owner avatars, loaders, and active button states.
Consistent theming across the strategy board table, vision canvas, and dashboard modules — no more light-mode elements leaking through.
Improved contrast and hover states for ratings, table rows, and Kanban drag previews.

Design Consistency#

We're moving more of the product onto a shared design token system for more consistent styling going forward.
File-upload menus are now standardized across the app, and theme-aware chips and font inconsistencies have been cleaned up.
We also fixed several layout quirks, including overlapping sidebar text, hard-to-read pop-ups, and minimaps and search boxes that looked visually disconnected from their boards.

Behind the scenes#

We tightened up how we handle third-party package authentication and cleaned up unused services and configuration to keep the platform running smoothly.

Fixed#

Editing a KPI directly from the dashboard now saves correctly.
Fixed several drag-and-drop issues on the Kanban board, plus incorrect board views under Backlog > Epic > Detail page > Children.
Work items now show the correct status on the board.
Filters no longer reset unexpectedly after you update an item.
The "Post" button now stays disabled while your title is being checked against Similar Ideas, so you can't post before it's ready.
Persona exports to PDF and SVG now default to a light background, so they're readable even if you exported from dark mode.
Image upload errors in Vision now show up clearly instead of leaving the page stuck.
Removed duplicate steps from the AI product tour, and "Take a tour" buttons now look and behave the same across every page.
Removed extra toast notifications when creating, updating, or deleting dashboards.

Coming next#

Roadmap#

A full revamp of the Roadmap experience, making it easier to plan and visualize where your product is headed.

Dashboard#

Further enhancements to the Dashboard, building on this release's redesign to give you even more visibility into your product at a glance.
