Visualizing Your Entire Product Flow#

This release introduces a new way to interact with your product strategy by making it completely visual.

Why We Built This#

Product teams often struggle to answer a very simple question: "Why are we building this?"
Work items live in backlogs. Goals live in spreadsheets. Strategy lives in slide decks. There is no single place where a product manager can visually trace how raw customer feedback led to an opportunity, which shaped a solution, which was then broken into epics.
We built the Strategy Map to close that exact gap. Think of it as your product's nervous system made visible—making the invisible connections highly traceable so you can always confidently answer why a specific priority was chosen.

Core Benefits#

See the Hierarchy: Instantly trace the flow from high-level Objectives down into specific Opportunities, Solutions, and Experiments in a structured, mind map-style format.
Understand Dependencies: Clearly see the relationships between different elements so your team evaluates priorities based on visual proof, not gut feelings.
Stakeholder Alignment: By utilizing the new high-quality PDF exports, you can effortlessly share this structured map with leadership to end abstract debates.

New#

The Strategy Map Canvas

We built an interactive, zoomable whiteboard to sit at the core of your workflow.
Connect the dots: See exactly how your Personas, user Feedback, company Goals, and Backlog items interlock.
Scoped Detail Maps: Open the new "Strategy Map" tab on any Epic or Objective to view a focused map showing only the items directly linked to it.
Numbers up front: View priority scores, opportunity values, and story point estimates right on the cards.
Track your goals: Metric cards now actively track your current numbers against your targets using mini charts.
Image Exports: Save your map as a clear SVG or PDF to use in team presentations.

Improved#

Saved Custom Layouts: Drag and drop cards wherever they make sense. We automatically save their exact positions for your next session.
Auto-Layout Snap: If your map gets messy, click once lightly to snap all the cards back into an organized, clean structure.
Quick Search: Find any item in the search bar and simply press 'Enter' to snap your screen tightly to it.

Fixed#

Hidden Delivery Risks: Cards now openly show 'Healthy', 'At Risk', or 'Blocked' warnings directly on the visual map so delivery problems don't go unnoticed.

How to Access It#

Global View: Click the Strategy Map icon on the left navigation menu.

Specific View: Open the Strategy Map tab inside any individual Objective, Epic, or Feature.

Real Use Case Example#

đź’ˇ
Imagine a stakeholder questions why a specific Solution is taking priority. Within Shorter Loop, instead of clicking blindly between different views, you simply open the Strategy Map. You can instantly show them the exact hierarchical flow—tracing from your overarching Objective, down through the associated Opportunity, the corresponding Solution, and finally linking to the root customer Feedback that inspired it all.

Other Enhancements & Fixes#

Strategic Status Dropdowns: You can now instantly update the status of any strategy item (such as Objectives or Opportunities) using a new Status Dropdown directly on the item.
Renamed to "Export": We have renamed all "Download" buttons across the entire app to "Export" to keep terminology consistent.
Try it today: Open the Strategy Map from the main menu to get started.
